THINGS TO DO

Walking

You can walk from Chilworth Woodland Retreat to the Chilworth Manor Hotel and the Chilworth Conservation Area (a lovely area to explore), and then on to the pub too if you wish!

The New Forest is also very popular for walking. You will find a book of walks in your hut/cabin.

Fishing

We have a fishing lake on site which as guests you're welcome to use free of charge if you have your own rods. Or we have a couple of rods you can hire. Either way, you will need a fishing licence which can be purchased from the government website: https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence

The lake is stocked with carp, tench, roach and rudd.

PLACES TO VISIT

The New Forest

(13.5 miles to Lyndhurst)

Famed for its ponies, the New Forest is a great place for a drive, walk or cycle. Or visit one of its pretty villages, beaches or many attractions. I particularly like Beaulieu and Lyndhurst.

Owned by the National Trust, Mottisfont, a historical priory, is a beautiful place to explore, renowned for its rose garden and also host to various exhibitions in the house.

PLACES TO EAT

The Chilworth Arms

Chilworth Rd, Chilworth, SO16 7JS (1 mile)

One of our favourites, a brilliant gastro-pub with great food and a cosy atmosphere. You can walk to it from the site but it’s worth booking as they get very busy (especially at the weekends).

Chilworth Manor Hotel

Chilworth, SO16 7PT (1.2 miles)

A beautiful location for lunch, dinner, or afternoon tea, you can even walk there through the woods!

Bella Vita at The Ox

120 Botley Rd, Southampton, SO52 9EE (0.4 miles)

The Italian restaurant at The Ox doesn't look all that great from the outside but offers yummy, real Italian food.
